Cannabis Industry Chapter 10

Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome or CHS

Long-term, heavy use of Marijuana or Cannabis is known to cause Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome or CHS. A medical diagnosis follows reports of various symptoms including severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, dehydration and possible kidney failure. If smoking patients self-treat with hot baths or showers for severe pain in the abdomen, doctors are clued to diagnose CHS. Smokers are encouraged to stop all forms of Cannabis intake to relieve symptoms within days of quitting use.
